Imperial War Flag (Reichskriegsflagge).
This flag served as War Ensign aboard all German warships from 7 November 1935 to 8 May 1945. It was flown in port and at sea from the stern flagstaff or the mainmast. The proportions of the flag were 3:5.
Jack Flag (Gösch).
The national flag served as Jack and it was flown from the jackstaff on the bow while in harbor.
Note the white disk with the black Swastika (Hakenkreuz) is slightly off-center. The proportions of the flag were 3:5.
Old Imperial War Flag (Kaiserliche Kriegsflagge).
The old Imperial War Ensign was flown at the top of the mainmast once a year on the anniversary of the battle of Jutland, 31 may. The proportions of the flag were 3:5.
Admiral Flags.
These flags were flown from the very top of the mainmast while an Admiral was on board. From left to right:
Admiral's Flag (Admiralsflagge), Vice-Admiral's Flag (Vizeadmiralsflagge), and Rear-Admiral's Flag (Konteradmiralsflagge).
The proportions of the flags were 1:1.
