The Spanish Heavy Cruiser Canarias during World War II. Spain national colors were painted over the hull sides to help identification at sea by belligerent powers. Designed by British naval architect Sir Philip Watts after the British County class but built in Spain, this ship had a displacement of 13,200 tons fully loaded and was armed with 8 x 8-inch guns in four twin turrets.
